About This Event
The Murphys Historic Hotel throws the town's big Fourth of July bash in the parking lot off Main Street. Star Dogs play live, Kevin Axtell works the crowd with magic, fire, and juggling, and there's BBQ and cold drinks to keep everyone going. Glow necklaces and sparklers for the kids, then Safe N Sane fireworks once it gets dark. Free to come, all ages, and it caps a day that kicks off with the noon parade right out front. Celebrating 250 years, 1776 to 2026.

About Murphys Historic Hotel
The Murphys Historic Hotel has been on Main Street since 1856 and claims the title of longest continuously operated hotel in California. Mark Twain, Ulysses S. Grant, and Black Bart all signed the register, and the saloon still feels the part: rustic, lived-in, properly Gold Rush. Out back there's a big outdoor area that takes large groups without reservations, dogs included, so it's an easy call when you're working Main Street with a crew.
