What if your young actor didn’t just take a class……but stepped into a real production with the mentorship of professional actors? This summer, students join The Mirror Project at Murphys Creek Theatre, a one-of-a-kind program that gives young performers a rare look inside how professional theatre works. Each student is mentored by a member of the professional cast of Henry V and paired with the actor who is playing the same role in the mainstage production. Forest School Adventure Camp

Kids

It’s that time of year again! Forest School Adventure Camp is running at White Pines this summer under a new brand name, Sugar Pine! As always, children are invited to do more than just crafts or typical summer camp activities. They’re invited to wonder, explore, experiment, create, and connect with the natural world in meaningful ways. Our STEAM-powered arts and crafts classes and nature-based camps blend science, art, engineering, storytelling, and outdoor exploration into hands-on experiences designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Whether campers are examining dragonflies at the lake, watercoloring wildflowers, building flight challenges inspired by birds, or exploring forest trails, children are encouraged to slow down, ask questions, and learn through discovery and play.

Summer on Stage Camp – The Mirror Project

Fine Arts

What if your young actor didn’t just take a class……but stepped into a real production with the mentorship of professional actors? This summer, students join The Mirror Project at Murphys Creek Theatre, a one-of-a-kind program that gives young performers a rare look inside how professional theatre works. Each student is mentored by a member of the professional cast of Henry V and paired with the actor who is playing the same role in the mainstage production. Along the way, they gain insight into rehearsal, performance choices, and the craft of bringing Shakespeare to life. Then the spotlight turns.Mirror Project actors take the stage in their own fully staged youth production of Henry V on the same Murphys Creek Theatre mainstage.Think of it as a summer where young actors get to peek behind the curtain, learn from working professionals, and then step into the lights themselves.By closing weekend, they’re not just performing Shakespeare — they’re walking away with bigger confidence, stronger stage skills, and a story they’ll be telling for years. Learn More & Register:murphyscreektheatre.org/summer-on-stage Summer on Stage: June 15–July 12, 2026 Performances: July 11 & 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm Registration Cut-Off: May 15, 2026

Music in the Parks Summer Concert Series

Live MusicFree

The Calaveras County Arts Council presents Music in the Parks, an admission-free, 10-week summer concert series that brings live music to various communities throughout the county. Concerts typically take place every Wednesday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM during the months of June, July, and August. The Earth Tones, a band operating in the Calaveras County/Sierra Foothills region (often playing at venues like Brice Station Vineyards), perform a blend of soulful ’60s classics, blues, and jazz standards. The trio/band features Tonja Peterson (vocals/cajon), Steve Gorman (lead/pedal steel), and Ron Schaner (bass), offering a warm, heartfelt, and, as they describe it, “off the grid” live sound
