What to do with kids along Highway 4 this weekend and the next few weeks, from Angels Camp to Bear Valley.
The standing kid moves up here don't need a calendar: the playground, sandy beach and disc golf at White Pines Lake in Arnold are free, the North Grove loop at Calaveras Big Trees is a flat mile and a half that works with a stroller, and Murphys Main Street has Joma's for ice cream and Nelson's Candy a few doors down. In May, the frog jump and the fair at Frogtown in Angels Camp are the big ones.
The list below is the dated stuff: every upcoming event in the Kids category, plus any event whose organizer says families or kids are welcome. We don't guess at that. A concert that never mentions kids stays off this page even if yours would love it.

Whether you joined us for our very first BROADRAVE or you’re experiencing it for the first time, warm up those vocal cords and get ready to sing! Here’s What’s In Store: – Sing along to your favorite show tunes (and maybe discover a few new ones!) – Jared Bisbikis returns as your host! CSTARS’ beloved alum is back to keep the music playing and the fun going all night long! – A Broadway costume contest – come dressed to impress for a chance to win prizes! – Food truck on site – delicious bites available for purchase. – Drink tickets – alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy while you sing. – Raffle prizes – enter to win exciting giveaways throughout the night! Mingle and Jingle Holiday Open House
FreeCalaveras Lumber's holiday open house, unveiling its Christmas Store, 8am to 5pm. Every customer gets a random 10% to 50% off coupon (one per family, Christmas products only). Santa visits 11am to 1pm; refreshments, baked goods, and popcorn; and a Calaveras Humane Society fundraiser with adoptable pets 10am to 4pm.
